    Setting the Stage for Success

The transition to preschool is a big step for families. It's completely normal for both parents and children to feel a mix of excitement and anxiety.

    Start with Routine

Children thrive on predictability. In the weeks leading up to their first day, start shifting their sleep and wake schedule to match what it will be on preschool days.

    • Morning Routine: Practice waking up, getting dressed, and having breakfast without rushing.
    • Familiarity: Drive past the centre or talk about the fun things they will do there.
    • Independence: Encourage them to put on their own shoes or open their own lunchbox.

    The Drop-off Strategy

The actual drop-off can be the hardest part. The key is to keep it positive, brief, and consistent.

A quick, confident goodbye reassures your child that they are in a safe place. Lingering can often increase their anxiety.

Our team at WeKidz is highly experienced in managing separation anxiety. We will partner with you to create a drop-off routine that works best for your child.
